Dawn brought home a visitor from the animal hospital last Tuesday. When I heard that, “We have company.”, I went inside to see who may be sitting on our couch. I walked right past the box turtle sitting on top of the washing machine. Dudley is about 10 years old. He was mistaken for a toy by two ornery dogs. His shell is broken in the back, so he will be staying with us until it can heal some. We may look into putting some epoxy on the shell so that his roof is strong enough when he is released. As I understand, the shell cannot grow back.
